The cheap deal that does not fit
A ranking is a starting gun, not a moral duty. The cheapest year on the wrong plant is still the wrong year.

Comparison has a vice: it trains people to treat the top row as a commandment. The top row is the cheapest year among lines that can be supplied at the premises, scored by a model that cannot see your spare-room office or your grandmother’s pendant. That is the correct default for a tool. It is a terrible personality. The cheap deal that does not fit is how a household saves £4 and spends a winter on a radio they cannot work from.
Name the fit
Upload for work, a voice path for care, ethernet in a flat, a short term because you are moving, support because you open tickets. Write one sentence. Then look at row two.
If row one still passes the sentence, take it. Hero cards exist to make that easy, not to bully you.
Where cheap lies (the noun)
FTTC dressed as fibre. A 24-month that ignores your sale date. CGNAT on a house that needs inbound. A helpdesk that is a form. None of these are in the monthly.
They are on the card if we know them. Read past the pounds.
Paying more on purpose
A support-premium ISP, a higher upload SKU, a rolling tool, a second path. Each can be the cheap deal in the only sense that matters: fewer ruined Tuesdays.
If you cannot name the Tuesday, do not pay for it. That is how vanity gigabits happen.
| Sentence | Row one often fails | Look at |
|---|---|---|
| Two of us call at 9:30 | Low-upload FTTC | Symmetric FTTP |
| I move in June | 24-month intro | Rolling / 12-month |
| I open tickets | Thin white-label | Support-premium on same plant |
The cheapest wrong line is not a bargain. It is a misclick with standing order.
Use our sort. Then overrule it with a sentence about your house. That is the product, not a cheaper-than-thou religion.

A fair fight is the same kind of line over the same months. Everything else is a poster next to a bus.

The year, not the teaser
The number on the advert is a monthly rent for a few months. The number that decides the switch is what you will have paid by next autumn.

Zen and the support premium
Some retailers sell a helpdesk. The fibre is the same. Whether that is worth £8 a month depends on the Tuesday your ONT dies.

Two workers, one upload
The household that needs two concurrent calls is a specification. It is not a lifestyle brand, and it is not 900 megabits down.
