How we rank broadband deals
The UK ranking model: preferences, availability, value, speed, contract, clarity, quality and a capped commercial factor.

How recommendations are calculated
The default sort is Recommended. It uses your preferences, availability confidence, first-year cost, speed suitability, contract fit, how clearly price-rise information is presented, an editorial quality score, and a commercial factor when a partner offer exists.
First-year cost is one ranking input. It is not the full minimum-term cost. Where a deal is longer than twelve months, the comparison should also show the scheduled months, setup and any confirmed exit fee. Staying and switching are only compared over the same stated window.
Commission can influence the default order
Partner compensation is not the only ranking input. In the current UK model it is capped at four points inside a much larger total. It can still change which deal appears first. You can sort by lowest monthly cost, first-year cost, speed, contract length or rating if you want a view that does not use that factor.
We do not say recommendations are based only on what is best for you. The commercial factor is real, capped, and disclosed here.
The public comparison does not use the mock file
Customer results use the reviewed catalogue published from GitHub: provider-page prices, with the source and the date they were read. A postcode is checked against the published postcode list. That does not mean a product can be ordered there.
Null fields stay null. An exit fee that was not on the provider page is not treated as zero. There is no address-level availability feed, and no approved tracked handoff. The link is to the provider’s own site.
Check options for your address
Opening price and minimum-term cost are separate. In this version the catalogue is a demonstration. The provider confirms availability and the order.
