Edinburgh and Glasgow are one country. A croft with a view of the Minch is another. The programme names try to pretend otherwise.

Scotland’s broadband politics loves a programme name. R100, reaching 100%, the last few percent: they photograph well at Holyrood. On a croft they are a date that moved, a cabinet that still sings in the wet, a voucher conversation, a dish. The central belt, meanwhile, argues about which gigabit is cheapest. Both conversations are valid. They should not share a headline.
Two Scotlands, one comparison engine
If you are in a Glasgow tenement with CityFibre and Openreach, read the overbuild pieces. If you are beyond the last spine, read the rural ones. Mixing them is how a highland address gets shown a London 2.2 Gbit poster as if it were rude not to want it.
Our ranking only lists what the catalogue can supply at the premises. If a national TV advert contradicts the address check, believe the address.
R100 as a horizon
Treat programme milestones as a horizon: useful, not a booking. Ask the operator for the UPRN, the install type, the retailer list.
If the horizon is ‘this financial year’ and your ADSL cannot carry a clinic appointment, buy a honest stopgap now. Parallel is allowed.
Weather and repair
Faults in the west of Scotland are geography. Compensation clocks still run; vans do not teleport. A 4G backup is part of a highland spec in a way it is not in a Leeds terrace.
Community schemes and regional builders can be closer with a van. Ask who actually rolls.

Reaching 100% is a programme. Reaching your door is a drop.
Scotland is not a coverage percentage. It is a set of premises with very different vans. Be loyal to the premises.
