Northern Ireland’s networks

It is the same island of rules, a different set of builders. Importing a mainland retailer list is how you order a ghost.

Northern Ireland is the part of the UK market that mainland comparison copy keeps forgetting, then apologising for, then forgetting again. It has its own Openreach company, a rural fibre push that put some GB shires to shame, and retailers that simply do not trade there. If a site shows you a CityFibre-only brand on a BT postcode, the site is wrong. If it shows you Fibrus and you were waiting for a London name, you may already be looking at the best plant you will get.

The names that matter

Openreach NI, Fibrus, Virgin in pockets, smaller regional players. Sky and BT still retail in the usual way on Openreach plant. The purple English wholesale story is not the local plot.

Write the plant name from the checker. If you cannot, you are shopping in the wrong country of the internet.

Stratum as a legacy, not a poster

The rural programme connected a lot of premises that would have waited. People still sit on old FTTC because they did not re-check. Re-check.

Where it did not land, you are in the same last-mile toolkit as highland Scotland: dated infill, FWA, satellite, a voucher conversation.

Switching locally

One Touch Switch is UK-wide. The gaining provider still has to be a retailer that serves NI. Do not start an order with a brand that politely fails at checkout.

Failed matches still love odd farm addresses and townlands. Use the billed spelling.

A UK comparison that cannot say Fibrus is not a UK comparison.

Northern Ireland is not a footnote to an English overbuild essay. It is a market with its own vans. Use those vans.
