CityFibre is not a retailer
Several logos, one trench. If the street is CityFibre, you are choosing a retailer on someone else’s fibre — and that is a different job from choosing Openreach.

CityFibre is the largest wholesale alternative to Openreach, which is a sentence that does not fit on a van. What fits on a van is Cuckoo, TOOB, Giganet, BeFibre, Vodafone in some towns, and a rotating cast of digital brands. Households think they are choosing a personality. They are choosing a retailer on a shared full-fibre plant.
Why the distinction pays
If the street is not CityFibre, shopping those brands is window-shopping. If the street is CityFibre, you can compare them as you would compare Openreach retailers: first-year cost, term, setup, and who you will phone when it breaks. The symmetric upload is often the reason to care. The logo is not.

A wholesale network is a shared road. The retailer is the taxi firm. Do not review the tarmac for the driver’s manners, or the other way round.
On OneTouchSwitch, CityFibre plans carry the network id. If the address file does not include that network, they will not be dressed up as available. That is the whole discipline.
Who you phone when it breaks
You phone the retailer. They open a ticket with CityFibre if the plant is the problem. Households who think they “have CityFibre” in the same way they “have a GP” are then surprised that the bill-payer is Cuckoo or TOOB. Know both names. Review the retailer for the bill and the hours; review the network for whether the street is even in the game.
Switching between retailers on the same plant
Sometimes the engineer does not need to return. Sometimes they do. Ask the gaining retailer whether it is a like-for-like on CityFibre or a new provide. Do not cease yourself to “make it easier”. One Touch Switch still wants a match, not a favour.
