After you order

What happens when you switch UK broadband

The sequence after you order: confirmation, the old provider’s message, installation and go-live.

You order with the new provider

That starts the process. You should get an order confirmation, a planned start date and any engineer appointment. Read the contract, cooling-off rights and the price after any promotion.

Your current provider should be in touch

They should share relevant information, including contract and early-termination details where they apply. Read that message even if you still intend to leave.

Activation day

Some orders are a remote switch. Others need an engineer or a new socket. Keep the old service connected until you are told otherwise. If something fails, contact the new provider first.
