The quiet expensive month
When a minimum term ends, many people stay on a higher rolling price. Set a reminder 90, 60 and 30 days out. Compare what is available at the address before you accept a retention offer you have not tested against the market.
Retention is optional
Your current provider may offer a new term. Treat it as one option among others. Check the new term length and the next price-rise clause, not just the first-month number.
